A Love Letter to My Main Man: by Carole Carnie

It’s 4 a.m. Sunday morning, and already I’m yearning for some alone time before we head off to the church. As always, I expect that once we arrive for worship you will no longer be “all” mine! You are so reliable, like clockwork you are precise and dependable, you are never late! No matter how many individuals you support durning the week, each Sunday you tirelessly usher the congregation into the presence of “Your Father.” That’s what I love most about you, “your dedication to “Our Father.”Before I was completely awake this morning, and before I even opened my eyes, just the thought of you made my heart skip a beat. When I finally awakened, the first image I saw was yours, and it was clear that I was exactly where I was meant to be, “next to you!”  Undeniably I am a blessed woman!

As I began to rustle out of bed, I paused for a moment, wanting to get one last glimpse of you before we started our day. Even with your responsibilities of attending to the needs of others, you still check on me from time to time to ensure me that I am loved. You always make yourself available to me, you are never too busy to hear my desires. You listen as if I am your only interest, and when I express my concerns regarding “our sons,” you reassure me that they will be just fine! Throughout the day all I need to do is think about you, and a calm immediately comes over me. Then my heart skips a beat, because of the overwhelming joy I’m feeling at that very moment. I then think, I can hardly wait until this day is over so we can share some quite, private time together. I long to nestle comfortably in your strong arms, and feel protected against the world. I love you more than the first time we met, you are my greatest love!

I look tenderly at you, thankful that your face was the first thing I saw this morning, and blessed that it is last thing I will see before falling asleep. I pray you are in my dreams! I love you with all my being, and I hope you feel the same about me. Good night Jesus ! A love letter from your daughter, Carole.

Follow God’s Lead: by Carole Carnie

When you allow “faith” to take you where you need to go, it’s the best place to be. When you know your destination, you plan which route to take. With “faith” you may, or may not know where you are going, you just go! “Faith” acknowledges that where you end up, is where God wants you to be.

Fork in the Road by Carole Carnie

When you come to a “fork in the road” in your life, sometimes the decision you make is not a matter of right or wrong, it’s more about making the best decision. That’s when you should stop, wait, and allow God to reveal the more suitable decision. That’s exactly the situation Jeff and I are presently in, “waiting!” It’s simultaneously exciting and scary, primarily because we are uncertain about where it is leading. However, we are certain about “WHO” is leading! Although we are currently in a holding pattern, (and that’s by choice) there is lots of movement being created around us.

Permit me to explain, Jeff was recently placed on a part-time employment  status at the church. Bhighway_exit_signsecause of that decision, which we consider our “symbolic “fork in the road,” Jeff proceeded to establish an infrastructure which will allow us to continue our “Loving Hands Ministry.” However, we are expanding “Loving Hands” to include the “Carole Carnie Ministry.”The ministry will look differently, and operate differently, but it will allow the Carnies to utilize all their skills to reach people. Jeff will be responsible for all business management, bookings, social media, advertisement, and music management. My responsibilities will be as an author, blogger, and inspirational speaker.

The movement that is occurring, are the daily tweets referred to asCaroleismwhich by definition are sayings I have come up with over the years to encourage, and inspire others. Currently, we put out a weekly blog, and a weekly vlog is scheduled to be launched in the near future. A podcast, and a book about my life is also in the plans. Finally, Jeff has enrolled in a local college to take classes which will enhance his knowledge in the areas of the ministry that is under his responsibility, he begins that journey in August.

Jeff and I can hardly contain our excitement regarding this “fork in the road” we are presently facing. However, until we are well on our way down this path, and have more clarity about our final destination, it is “scary!”

Diversity by Carole Carnie

D369x254_equal_employment.jpgiversity doesn’t just happen, it’s intentional. It doesn’t happen because you talk about it, or you say you want it, it happens by doing it. To achieve true diversity and sustain it, hearts must be changed, otherwise all you have accomplished is people of different backgrounds and cultures coming together.

We should strive for much more, strive for relationships, bonds, friendships, and eventually love. Then and only then, are we able to show the world God’s principle of, “they will know you are mine by the way you love/treat one another.”

BATTLE OF SURVIVAL: by Carole Carnie

Approximately 7 months ago, Jeff and I made a “life style” change, it was the day after Thanksgiving, 2014. We changed our diet, went to the gym at least 5 days a week, and made sure to get at least 8 hours sleep each night. Additionally, we made our “spiritual well being” a priority in our lives by staying faithful to our daily devotions.

Around the first of the year, Jeff started moving some of his personal items from his office at the church back to our house, unconsciously he was establishing a home studio. He admits that he didn’t have plans to create a studio, he was just following his instincts! He was acting on a strong sense to move things from the church to the house.

This past Christmas while visiting the home of close family friends, Jeff confided in the husband that he was experiencing feelings of uneasiness, but that he couldn’t identify the source behind those feelings. Well fast forward to the present, and things make perfectly good sense! I’ve shared a timeline of occurrences in Jeff’s and my life, which at the time didn’t make any sense at all. The events by themselves seemed abstract, but looked at together it makes all the sense in the world. In hindsight we both realize that it was God orchestrating every situation.

11-2014:   The Carnies are inspired to get into physical, and spiritual shape. Unbeknownst to us,  we were readying ourselves for a “battle of survival.”

12-2014:   Jeff confides in his friend regarding his feelings of uneasiness which seemed to have no basis.

01-2015: Jeff began to move personal items from his boxing_box_boxers_266187office at the church, and set up a home studio.

Oh yea, I failed to mention that about 3 years ago, Jeff and I began to aggressively get our finances in order. We created a financial plan, stuck to it religiously, and began the journey of living considerably below our means. The objective was that through our ministry,  we would have the ability to help more people.

We see now, that while decisions were being made that would drastically change our lives, and could have financially devastated us, God was making changes in our lives which would serve as a buffer in terms of the impact the change in our employment status would have on our lives. God was caring for us, even when we didn’t know we needed “His” protection. That’s why Jeff and I are able to stand confidently, without fear or hesitation, and follow God, even when we aren’t sure where He is leading. We know God has a plan for our lives! We understand the importance of being quiet, of being still, and listening to what God is saying to us.

From the time you are aware that there will be a change in your life, until the time you respond, there is “empty space.” Many people respond without taking the time to seek God’s direction. They respond out of emotions to the situation. However, if you go to that “empty space,” it is there you will find your power. It is there that you are able to pray, it is there that you will meet God. It is there that He will speak to you. Jeff and I are currently in that “space,” seeking God’s direction, and whole heartedly ready to follow. So, what do you do when changes occur in your life, know that God is making changes on your behalf. God’s plan is for all of us to prosper!
